Set the base
Draw a light oval base, upright stand, round cage guide, and short trailing cord.
Sketch tip: Ghost the large circle before committing so the cage has a calm, even rhythm.

Ring the cage
Refine the guide into a double-line round wire cage attached to the established stand.
Sketch tip: Keep the inner ring parallel to the outer ring instead of correcting one side at a time.

Center the hub
Add a small round hub and collar where the established stand meets the cage.
Sketch tip: Let the hub sit directly on the cage centerlines; that simple check keeps the blades balanced.

Sweep the blades
Draw four broad rounded blades from the established hub.
Sketch tip: Turn the paper rather than twisting your wrist. Each blade should begin at the same hub, then curve outward.

Cross the wires
Add cage spokes and light graphite shade to the established base, stand, hub, and blades.
Sketch tip: Shade with strokes that follow each metal curve. Directional tone feels more solid than rubbing everywhere.

Finish the vintage metal
Darken the keeper contours and clarify the existing cage, spokes, hub, blades, cord, and metal shading.
Sketch tip: Stop before adding a desk scene or labels. The cage, four blades, and oval base already make the object unmistakable.
